concept, screendesign, prototyping
My honours project at university. The main idea was to create an innovative way of fundraising. The concept is applied to the NGO Go Smile Uganda.
Since bikes are this important for the daily life of the ones in need in Africa, this transport vehicle is used for this concept. People, who rent a bike at a local rental business (e.g. DB Call a bike), are asked to give 1 Cent for every minute they rent it as a generated donation for a charity project. This process is handled with a smartphone app. But to make this even more fun to everyone, bike garages and others are asked to build bikes in the typical african style – with a lot of transport facilities and a unique style. This bikes are integrated in the usual rental service to gain more presence in the streets. For this concept, I designed and developped a smartphone app, a website, social-media-pages and prototypes of african-styled bikes.
A smartphone-app was designed and developped. With this app, a user can find and rent a bike from the rental service. To develop this app, Phonegap was used. To enhance this project with a more realistic touch, the German Railway company Deutsche Bahn was added as a fictitious partner.
A website tells all the required information. Since a lot of people are expected to look it up on their smartphone, it has been developped responsive. For a better storytelling, this is a one-page-design
Social media campaign
Facebook as a major social media channel is used to broadcast this idea among future users.
Colors, Fonts, Images and low poly models are used to create a visual design, which reflects the major topics of the campaign.
